Post Construction IMA reduces the cost of yacht ownership by minimizing downtime; first, through proper machinery design and specification based on the owner’s interest and intent; second, through overseeing construction and surveys; and, third, through an ongoing program of supervising maintenance and operational expenditures. Over the life of the vessel crew members will come and go but IMA is a constant presence and a technical resource for crew, owner or shipyards. Our support reduces costs and delays resulting from contractors’ and suppliers’ lack of knowledge about unique and current specifications of the vessel. With IMA’s involvement, owners and captains can be sure the correct equipment is ordered for each application, suited to the overall budget of the vessel and consistent with regulatory and classification requirements and the owner’s intent.
Because IMA’s core professionals and associates are also involved with other vessels, IMA brings the broadest base of resources to the management of each asset from experience gained on other projects.
It is IMA’s business to be up-to-date on all classifications, regulations and documentation for vessels over 150 gross tons. Because of IMA’s position, our core professionals are frequently aware of industry decisions before they are announced and can thus position their clients accordingly.
